This historical marker traces Abraham Lincoln's 1859 speaking trip to Kansas, where he visited Elwood, Troy, Doniphan, Atchison and Leavenworth. This marker is about a half mile from the site of his December 1, 1859 speech in Troy where he spoke at the Doniphan County Courthouse, described further in another historical marker in Troy accompanied by a bust of Lincoln.
