This equestrian statue of Andrew Jackson is located in Jacksonville, Florida, a city that was named after him. Jackson was the first governor of Florida when it became part of the United States in 1821. This statue was dedicated in 1987. It is one of four identical statues sculpted by Clark Mills. The others are located in: Washington, DC, Nashville, Tennessee and New Orleans, Louisiana. The bridge seen in the background of some of the photos below is the John T. Alsop Jr. Bridge.
