George Washington Statue - North Carolina State Capitol Rotunda

This statue of George Washington is located in the rotunda of the North Carolina State Capitol in Raleigh. An original statue at this location was sculpted by Antonio Canova and dedicated in 1821, but was destroyed in a 1831 fire. This replica statue was sculpted by Romano Vio based on the original model and dedicated in 1970.
