George Washington Birthplace

George Washington was born on February 22, 1732 in Westmoreland County, Virginia at his family's Popes Creek plantation home. The house in which he was born was destroyed in a fire in 1779. The property is now part of the George Washington Birthplace National Monument and is open to the public to visit.
