This statue of Harry Truman is on the grounds of the former Jackson County Courthouse in Independence, Missouri where Truman served as Presiding Judge before he became president. The building is now known as the Historic Truman Courthouse. The statue was sculpted by Gilbert Franklin and dedicted in 1976, by the president at that time, Gerald Ford.
