Abraham Lincoln Monument - Laramie, Wyoming

This monument dedicated to Abraham Lincoln is located along Interstate 80 near Laramie, Wyoming. The bust of Lincoln was sculpted by Robert Russin and in 1959 was dedicated and placed at Sherman Summit, the highest point along the Lincoln Highway (named for Abraham Lincoln), the first transcontinental road for automobiles. After construction of the The Dwight D. Eisenhower System of Interstate and Defense Highways (Interstate Highway), the monument was moved about a mile away to its present location in 1969.
