This memorial marks the place where Lyndon B. Johnson took the oath of office on Air Force One after the assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. The precise location is marked by the bright white light on the tarmac that can be seen directly underneath the glass etching of Air Force one on the window looking out onto the airport in the first and second photographs below. The bronze historical marker shown on the wall is a duplicate of the actual marker embedded in the tarmac at the site of the bright light. The indoor viewing area pictured here is on the 2nd floor of the terminal outside of the secure area.
