This "These Are My Jewels" monument includes statues of three Presidents: Ulysses S. Grant, James Garfield, and Rutherford B. Hayes as well as other prominent figures in the Civil War: Phillip Sheridan, William T. Sherman, Salmon Chase, and Edwin Stanton. All the featured indviduals were either born or had signficant connections to Ohio. It was sculpted by Levi Scofield and first displayed in 1893 at the World's Columbian Exhibition (World's Fair) in Chicago and assumed its present location on the grounds of the Ohio State Capitol in 1894, with Rutherford B. Hayes being added after the monument arrived in Columbus.
